✔️ Why This Recipe is Great
Easy Passion Fruit Mocktail: this is my way of using up more of the actively antihistamine fresh passion fruits I found at my local Sprouts Market, grown right down the East Coast in Florida. However you can also use frozen passion fruit puree or juice, and I'd actively recommend using my homemade sugar-free passionfruit syrup.
Low Histamine Drink: I always get requests from readers for non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy in the summer, and this is one of my next drinks to add to the collection. If you'd like to spike it a bit, however, just add 1-2oz. of vodka or tequila.
Easy to Make & Batch: with just 3 ingredients and no blender really needed, this passion fruit mocktail couldn't get much simpler. It's also very easy to make 8-10 times over for large groups, and even have kids make it themselves with a mango they pick out on their own.
🥭 Ingredients

Fresh or Frozen Mango: mango pieces are the base for this mango passion mocktail, and you can use fresh or frozen chunks depending on what's available (though we agreed that the fresh version tasted more flavorful).
Passion Fruit Syrup or Juice: this adds bright tropical flavor and acidic balance to the beverage, and you can use any type of passon fruit concentrate you tolerate, as well as a sugar-free granulated sweetener to make a microwave simple syrup if you're don't have any on hand.
Sparkling (Flavored Water): Sanzo is just an example of a brand that uses real fruit puree to flavor their sparkling waters, but you can use whatever drink you tolerate. In my opinion it does one of the best jobs of capturing the bite of alcohol without actually adding any.
🫗 How to Make Mango Passion Fruit Mocktail (Step-by-Step)
Step 1) Peel your mango and remove the softer orange-yellow flesh around the pit, chopping it as finely as you can (image 1). Alternatively, add the fresh or frozen fruit to a blender and chop until pureed.

Step 2) In a large mug, muddle the chopped mango and passion fruit syrup (image 2).

Step 3) Then add the ice and sparkling water, stir everything lightly, garnish with fresh mint & enjoy (images 3 & 4)!

🥥 Variations
- Creamy Mango Mocktail: Blend the mango with a splash of full-fat coconut milk before topping with sparkling water for a creamy, tropical twist.
- Mint Mango Spritzer: Lightly muddle 2–3 fresh mint leaves in the glass before adding the mango for a refreshing herbal note.
- Extra Mango Forward: Skip the passion fruit and use additional mango purée plus a touch of simple syrup for an ultra-gentle, mango-only version.
- Frozen Slushie: Blend frozen mango with ice and a little sparkling water for a low histamine mango mocktail slush.
- Lightly Sweetened: Replace the passion fruit syrup with simple syrup or monk fruit sweetener if passion fruit isn’t tolerated.
🧊 Freezing and Storage
If you make two servings of this mocktail but decide you only want one, you can freeze the extra serving, though it will lose a bit of the flavor intensity and any fizziness from the carbonated element. You may also want to let the mango fully thaw before enjoying the second serving.
👨🏻🍳 Expert Notes & Tips
Using Frozen Mango Chunks: to use frozen fruit rather than fresh, I highly recommend using a blender to mix them with the passion fruit syrup rather than hand-chopping, as the temperature difference will be extra noticeable.
Brand of Sparkling Water: the Sanza sparkling drinks are made with fruit purees, and come in various flavors, but I know they're not available everywhere. I like the Poppi brand of prebiotic drinks, but in a pinch, any brand of sparkling water would be a decent sub.
Adjusting the Sweetness: adding more simple syrup or liquid sweetner of your choosing will increase the sweetness of the drink, though be careful not to add too much of the passion fruit syrup or it won't be balanced out by the mango's sweetness.
