✔️ Why This Recipe is Great
Easy Mango Mocktail: this is my way of using up more of the actively antihistamine fresh mangoes we get here all summer, albeit in the form of mango puree, however you can also use frozen mango puree or juice.
Low Histamine Drink: I always get requests from readers for non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy in the summer, and this is one of my next drinks to add to the collection. If you'd like to spike it a bit, however, just add 1-2oz. of vodka or tequila.
Easy to Make & Batch: with just 3 (or 4) ingredients and no blender needed, this mango ginger beer mocktail couldn't get much simpler. It's also very easy to make 8-10 times over for large groups, and even have kids make it themselves with their favorite ginger drink.
🥭 Ingredients

Fresh or Frozen Mango Puree: this easy fruit puree is the base for this mango mule mocktail, and you can use fresh or frozen depending on what's available (though we agreed that the fresh version tasted more flavorful than any canned kind).
Fresh Lime Juice: though optional if you can’t tolerate it, I find the lime juice to add to the sting of the overall drink, like some of the sharpness contributed by vodka.
Allulose Syrup or Simple Syrup: this adds balance to the beverage, and you can use allulose or another sugar-free granulated sweetener to make a mint simple syrup if you want to make it something like a more traditional mule.
Ginger Beer: Betty Buzz or Fever Tree are just examples of what brands of ginger beer you could use for this gingery mango mocktail, though in my opinion a low-sugar one like Betty Buzz does the best job of capturing the bite of alcohol without actually adding any.

🍋🟩 Variations
- Mint Mango Mule: Replace the simple syrup with mint-infused simple syrup or add a few fresh mint leaves for a refreshing twist that stays low histamine.
- Ginger-Free Option: Swap ginger beer for a low histamine sparkling water with a hint of ginger essence or ginger powder for those sensitive to fermented ginger products.
- Citrus-Free Twist: Replace lime juice with a tiny pinch of food-grade citric acid or a splash of low histamine apple juice to keep it tangy without high-histamine citrus.
- Sweeter Mango Mule: Increase mango puree slightly or add allulose for a naturally sweeter, low histamine mocktail.
- Herbal Mango Mule: Infuse the simple syrup with fresh basil or rosemary for a gentle herbal note that complements mango while remaining low histamine.
- Frozen Mango Mule: Use mango ice cubes instead of regular ice for a thicker, slushy-style drink without needing a blender.
👨🏻🍳 Expert Notes & Tips
To Cucumber or Nah?: I don't know where this cucumber in a mango mule nonsense came from, but you can also add a thick slice of cucumber to the bottom of your glass when muddling the lime, if desired. I tried it for my fiance's, but decidedly did not like the taste.
Brand of Ginger Beer: I quite enjoy the Fever Tree brand of ginger beer, but it does have about 10g of sugar per serving, so if that's important to you, you may want to look for a lower-sugar option.
I like the Betty Buzz brand for its lack of fermentation and low sugar content, but in a pinch some sparkling water with ginger simple syrup could also be a decent sub. Alternately, for an overall less sweet drink you can also use 1 teaspoon fresh or frozen ginger puree + sparkling water.
Adjusting the Sweetness: adding more simple syrup or liquid sweetner of your choosing will increase the sweetness of the drink, though be careful not to add too much of the mint syrup or it won't be balanced out by the mango's sweetness.
